Mentee FAQ

Q: Who can be a mentee?
A: Anyone aged 18+ who is in the LGBTQ community or questioning

Q: Who will I be matched up with?
A: Our mentors are experienced LGBTQ people who are interested in helping you out. They are not trained professionals.

Q: Can I request a specific type of mentor (e.g. same gender)?
A: You certainly can, and we will do everything we can to honor those requests, although no guarantees can be made.

Q: Does the program involve in-person or online mentorship?
A: The program is designed for online mentorship. Your mentor may not be located in the same area as you.

Q: How will I communicate with my mentor?
A: We leave that up to you and your mentor. Examples of potential communication methods include email, texting, Reddit, Discord and more.

Q: What types of things should I discuss with my mentor?
A: Anything that you'd like. Examples include questioning sexual orientation or gender identity, coming out, relationships, social matters, career matters, or just life in general.

Q: What safety measures are in place?
A: We have a variety of safety measures in place, including an application process for mentors, limiting the program to those aged 18+ and limiting contact to over the internet 

Q: I'd like to remain anonymous. Is that possible?
A: Yes, absolutely. 

Q: What if I don't click with my mentor. Can I request another one?
A: Yes you can, and we will do our best to honor those requests.
